Electronic cigarettes come as a kit containing the cigarette itself, cartridge, rechargeable batteries and a user’s manual. They contain no carcinogens and other chemicals associated with the regular (analog) cigarettes. They do not require to be flamed and are said to be tobacco free.

E-cigarettes, have the same health risks as conventional cigarettes given the fact that they contain nicotine; a major component of tobacco. Electronic cigarettes can be even more harmful given the misconceptions that they are safe and do not produce smoke.

Most people switch to them believing that they are safe not knowing that, just like regular cigarettes, they contain nicotine. The exact composition of electronic cigarettes is not known. As such, they may contain other chemicals called irritants like propylene glycol.

Because E-cigarettes are sold in flavors like mint and chocolate, young people may be attracted to them believing that they are not harmful. The nicotine content in them may lead to young people being addicted and even graduating to regular cigarettes.

E-cigarettes are promoted and marketed in misleading. Most of the time, the e-cigarettes are sold as away to quite smoking but in actual sense they increase smoking because the nicotine is inhaled more quickly than in regular cigarettes .this means that smokers can get high faster with e-cigarettes than with normal cigarettes leading to addiction. Producers and distributers of E-cigarettes cheat people into believing that e-cigarettes makes it possible to control the amount of nicotine that one inhales. The truth is that smokers stand to inhale even large amounts of nicotine with e-cigarettes than with regular cigarette. This is because the benefits of e-cigarettes are exaggerated for marketing gains and not for the benefit of the user.
